To receive additional items that the Chair is of the opinion should be considered as a matter of urgency, in accordance with Section 100B (4) (b) of the Local Government Act 1972.

There were no items of urgent business.

Minutes:

There were no declarations of interest.

 

Exclusion of the Public and Press

 

Members agreed the press and public should be excluded from the meeting during consideration of an agenda item on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as specified in Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 or it being confidential for the purposes of Section 100A(2) of that Act.

Determination of a Private Hire Driver Licence

Minutes:

The Chair asked all parties if there were any requests. There were no requests made from all parties.

 

The Licensing Officer introduced the report to Members of the Sub-Committee.

 

Members and the applicant were provided with the opportunity to pose questions to the Licensing Officer. There were no questions asked from either party.

 

The Applicant was then provided with the opportunity to present their case.

 

All parties were given an opportunity to ask questions to the applicant. The Chair asked a question. There were no questions asked from the Licensing Officer.

 

The Chair of the Sub-Committee asked Members if they had any further questions. He then moved on to closing summaries.

 

The Sub-Committee adjourned at 19.09 for deliberation and were accompanied by the Legal Advisor and the Democratic Services Officer. The meeting reconvened at 19.38.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the Sub-Committee agreed to take no action on the existing licence but attached conditions for when the licence was due for renewal.

New Application for a Hackney Carriage Driver Licence

Minutes:

The Chair asked all parties if there were any requests. There were no requests made from all parties.

 

The Licensing Officer introduced the report to Members of the Sub-Committee. It was highlighted the title of the report should read ‘Renewal Application for a Hackney Carriage Driver Licence’.

 

Members and the applicant were provided with the opportunity to pose questions to the Licensing Officer. Councillor Gamester and the Chair asked questions. There were no questions from the Applicant.

 

The Applicant was then provided with the opportunity to present their case.

 

All parties were given an opportunity to ask questions to the applicant. The Chair and Councillor Fish both posed questions. There were no questions asked from the Licensing Officer.

 

The Chair of the Sub-Committee asked Members if they had any further questions. He then moved on to closing summaries.

 

The Sub-Committee adjourned at 19.54 for deliberation and were accompanied by the Legal Advisor and the Democratic Services Officer. The meeting reconvened at 20.10.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the Sub Committee granted the Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence with limited restrictions.
