To approve as a correct record the minutes of General Services Committee meeting held on 21May 2015.

The minutes of the General Services Committee held on 21 May 2015 were approved as a correct record.

To receive additional items that the Chair is of the opinion should be considered as a matter of urgency, in accordance with Section 100B (4) (b) of the Local Government Act 1972.

There was no items of urgent business.

No interests were declared.

The Committee received the long list pack containing applications for the post of Chief Executive. Gatenby Sanderson, the specialist recruitment agency, went through each application explaining the basis by which they were organised into three categories. Category A represented Gatenby Sanderson’s recommendations for candidates to be put forward to the next round, category B were considered applications that were marginal and category C contained applications that the agency felt were not suitable for the next stage of application.

The Committee understood the next stage would involve an experienced chief executive undertaking an in depth interview with each candidate and reporting back on his/her appraisal of each.

RESOLVED That nine candidates identified be shortlisted for the next stage of application.
